Helicopter Services
The Arunachal Pradesh Helicopter Service operates daily services between Guwahati and Naharlagun. Helicopter services have also been introduced now connecting many other centres within Arunachal Pradesh.

Services available are: Mainly originating from Guwahati, Dibrugarh (Mohanbari) and Itanagar, these services are available for Tawang, Ziro. Along, Daporijo. Pasighat. Roing,
Anini, Tezu and Khonsa.

By Rail
Nearest railhead Harmuty in Assam (33 km from Hangar).

Trains include Arunachal Express from Guwahati. A more convenient railhead is North Lakhimpur in Assam. 60 km from Itanagar, 407 km from Guwahati. It is also served by Arunachal Express.

Journey time from Guwahati, about 11 hours by bus.

Buses are available from Harmuty and North Lakhimpur to Itanagar, for your onward journey.

From Guwahati, one travels mostly on NH 52 to reach Itanagar. 429 km away.

Direct buses are available from Guwahati.

Direct buses to Itanagar are also available from Shillong (482 km). Tezpur and other places in Assam like Jorhat, Dibrugarh, Tinsukhia and Nogaon.

Within Arunachal Pradesh, bus services are available from ltanagar/Naharlagun.

Access
While the Lohit, Tirap and Dibang valley can be accessed from Dibrugarh IKolkata-Dibrugarh), it's best to head for Bomdila Tawang from the Tezpur side, and Itanagar- Ziro-Along-Pasighat from Lilabari (North Lakhimpur) side.

A visit to the state can be divided into four distinct parts: the Bomdila-Sela-Tawang region, Itanagar- Ziro-Along-Pasighat, Roing-Anini and Namdapha-Tezu. To visit the Bomdila side one doesn't have to go to Itanagar. Tezpur is a more convenient starting-point. You can take a direct bus to Tawang. Bus services are also available from Bomdila.
